Caring for your Macramé

Caring for Your Macramé

To keep your macramé looking its best:

  • Keep it away from excessive moisture and humidity.

  • Avoid placing it somewhere it may become damp or wet.

  • Keep it away from open flames, candles and other sources of heat.

  • Dust gently using a soft brush or a gentle burst of cool air.

  • Avoid pulling or stretching the cords.

  • Handle your piece carefully when moving or repositioning it.

Natural fibres can change slightly over time, particularly when exposed to sunlight, moisture or changes in temperature.

Caring for Crystals

Crystals are natural materials and each one is unique.

To help protect your crystals:

  • Avoid dropping or knocking your piece.

  • Keep crystals away from excessive moisture unless the specific crystal is known to be water-safe.

  • Avoid harsh cleaning products or chemicals.

  • Keep your piece away from prolonged direct sunlight where appropriate, as some crystals may fade over time.

Small differences in colour, shape, texture and natural markings are completely normal and are part of the beauty of natural crystals.

Caring for Dried Flowers

Dried flowers are delicate natural materials and will naturally change over time.

To help preserve them:

  • Keep your piece somewhere dry.

  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.

  • Keep away from moisture and humidity.

  • Avoid touching or handling the flowers unnecessarily.

  • Dust gently when needed.

Some natural fading, movement or slight shedding over time is completely normal.

Displaying Your Piece Safely

Please make sure your piece is securely attached to a suitable wall, hook or fixing appropriate for its size and weight.

Larger pieces may require stronger fixings than smaller pieces.

Please check that the fixing you use is suitable for the surface you are attaching the piece to.

Safety

Some Stranded Stone Designs pieces contain small crystals, dried flowers or other small components.

These pieces are decorative items and are not toys.

Please keep them out of reach of young children and pets, as small components may present a choking or ingestion hazard.

Macramé pieces should also be kept away from open flames, candles, heaters and other sources of heat due to the natural fibres used.

Natural Materials

Because I work with natural materials, no two pieces will ever be exactly the same.

Crystals and dried flowers can vary naturally in colour, shape, size and texture. These differences are part of what makes your piece unique.

Over time, natural materials may change slightly due to light, temperature and the environment in which they are displayed.
